Welcome to Psyberspace
'Psyberspace' was launched on 20th March
2000, by
Dr Andrew Campbell and
Dr Ian Hughes. The website began as
The University of Sydney's first
PhD online research project for
psychology and behavioural health and has since progressed towards hosting different research
projects for staff and students in allied health, referencing scholarly publications,
and providing online testing materials and teaching
resources for university students and the general public that relate
to the teaching and practice of psychology and behavioural science.
'Psyberspace' was also designed to promote the growing
area of
Cyberpsychology.
Dr Andrew Campbell maintains
'Psyberspace' in order to
further provide research, teaching and community resources and information about Cyberpsychology, as
well as his other areas of research and teaching; they being
Lifespan Psychology, Social Psychology, Psychology of
Ageing, and Health Psychology.

Dr Andrew J. Campbell
Dr Campbell is the first
graduate of Psychology at The University of Sydney to have
completed a PhD entirely using the Internet for subject
recruitment, data collection and dissemination of the
results. To read his thesis

Dr Campbell is also the first
Australian Member of the International Society for Mental
Health Online and is currently a member of its Legal Affairs
committee which aims to promote standard ethical and quality
controlled practices for online counselling.
